Yin Yoga • Feldenkrais • Qi Gong • Breath • Structural Integration
Join Bevie Barker, Liz Bowman and Chris Newell for a nourishing weekend of movement, exploration and connection in the beautiful natural setting of Origins Centre.
This workshop is an invitation to slow down, settle the nervous system and rediscover a more natural state of calm, balance and ease.
Our focus is the cultivation of a Yin body state — a relaxed, receptive and responsive state in which the nervous system can down-regulate and return towards its natural homeostatic balance. Rather than treating relaxation as something we occasionally experience, we’ll explore how it can become a skill we cultivate and a state we increasingly recognise as our default.
Slowness creates the space for awareness. Breath deepens that awareness and helps the nervous system settle.
Through Yin Yoga, Feldenkrais, Qi Gong and slow mindful movement, we’ll explore the relationship between breath, proprioception and interoception — sensing where we are, sensing what is happening within us, and developing a clearer relationship with our whole body.
We’ll explore simple movement principles that connect the feet to the core, the hands to the core and the whole body through the fascial system, creating an integrated sense of strength, stability and ease.
Rather than striving for performance, we’ll learn to listen, feel and respond.
The result can be a different quality of movement — less effort, more awareness; less tension, more connection; greater strength with greater ease.
This weekend is also about connection beyond the individual.
There will be time to practise together, share experiences, rest, walk, breathe and simply be in nature. The supportive group environment provides an opportunity to connect with other like-minded people while exploring your own relationship with body and mind.
We believe that wellbeing is not simply about what happens when we are alone on a yoga mat. It is also about our capacity to connect — with ourselves, with others and with the natural world.
The practices we share are not intended to be something you leave behind at the end of the weekend.
They are simple, adaptable skills that can become part of everyday life — helping you regulate your nervous system, cultivate a calm mind and body, maintain mobility and awareness, and develop a more balanced relationship with movement and rest.
Our intention is to help you discover practical ways to support vitality, resilience, balance and longevity throughout life.
Come as you are. Move slowly. Breathe. Feel. Connect.
And discover what it feels like to inhabit a calm, balanced Yin body state.
